Old buildings like this look good in B&W but this one had some doors and windows of red so did the selective colour scene!
Three Good Things:
1. This is one of many Oamaru Stone buildings that stood the test of time.
2. Riding on Ruby in a stiff Easterly breeze was no problem. There were many white waves down at the harbour.
3. Bought some frozen corn cobs for the Lion's Picnic tomorrow to put on the barbecue.
I love, LOVE this shot, and your processing of it! This is one of the most wonderful uses I have seen of selective coloring.....the red doors and windows really stand out against all that B&W (well, mostly white), but they are not overdone....just enough to draw your eye right into the buildings so that you notice all the wonderful detailing! FAV!!
A lovely capture and processing Maggiemae -- I love the pencil sketch feel created here with the pop of red (SC) bringing the whole scene to life ! -- wonderful ,artistic and a fav !
It's taken me ages to scroll down to here but boyo was it worth it.......I LOVE it? Fave, fave, fave? So clever & such subtle colouring.......I can not do SC if only I could! This is classy SC!
Love your clever selective colouring. I hope these outstanding old buildings you have in Oamaru get the love and attention they deserve. Probably be turned into exclusive waterfront apartments one day.
@snaphappi They did build an apartment in one part but it was shabbily done and not popular. The rest is just a junk yard. If I only had a million dollars or more likely 4 million!
i am in awe of your processing skills and imagination, maggiemae. and this one in particular is such a beauty made more so by your excellent processing skills!
