The top photo was taken 60 years ago when my family came to stay in this Dunedin, NZ hotel to attend the Boronanski Ballet Concert! That is our car there, a Chevrolet 1937. I think it is my sister standing there.
The bottom photo was taken yesterday with our car there - parked facing the other way as you couldn't drive from left to right!
Lots of fun when I was a child - probably raced down the long passages and had to use a shared bathroom down the hall which was also exciting. Of course we all had dressing gowns. And in the morning a tea trolley noisily trundled down the hallway about 7am, a knock on the door and you were asked if you wanted a cup of tea! Not today!
@digitalrn The building itself hasn't changed I expect being concrete but the beds are modern and not saggy in the middle, there are no candlewick bedspreads and there are plugs in the walls now!
I love the comparison. The dark windows in the top make it almost look like a derelict building (or a could-pass-as one). Good choice to go with color in the bottom.
Too bad so many of the old services have gone
