This is the photo I talked about in my other posting re the Harbour. The photographer said, 15 sec exposure, lowest aperture, ISO 1600. Point at the moon in auto focus then turn auto focus off. I thought he meant shoot the moon and did!
@phil_howcroft I wasn't supposed to be shooting the moon but didn't realise that Phil. He said lock on to the moon for autofocus but what I should be shooting was an aurora down south. Couldn't see one though - lights too bright!
Yes it is a very awesome result! The moon is a light source (or a refraction of one if you're going to get technical) so you don't need a wide aperture or high ISO. I'm not sure what your photographer was trying to have you accomplish, but the effect is awesome!
Maggie this is amazing I think you should put it an exhibition. fabricate some story about it anw you spent hours getting the perfect processing. Then sell it for a fortune. Please note I said fabricate and not lie!!
ISO 1600 seems far too high for shooting the moon
