One of the many...

delightful Welsh villages! This one is near Betws-y-coed and I liked it for the uniformity of architecture on either side of the road. We passed through this adorable village which was in my mother's diary that I transcribed - she found it extremely busy in 1929 but says, "It grows not, nor does it bother about the crowds of people who come from all parts to admire its beauty. It remains unchanged in all nature's beauty. With a little difficulty we found board and were soon sound asleep amid those lovely surroundings" And they are! But the tourists are still here in their throngs!
How wonderful with that intense sky.

Very dramatic sky. Sounds as though little has changed since your mum visited there.

@thistle A lot of people think so, Joyce - she was always interested in writing up until she got dementia and then it was too late to ask her about this trip!

So pretry and great colours. Your Mother's diary sounds as though it would be great reading

@alophoto The sky, of course, let down a lot of rain which hindered our wanderings!

@beryl What a nice thing to say, Beryl! Thank you- I feel almost emotional too as we travel in her footsteps - in a modern car!

@olivetreeann She never went to Canada or the USA but had diaries from this visit to the UK. Also went to Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) where she had a cousin and Russia where she had a sister!

@happypat Its only one street of this enchanting village and I have too many photos. The other parts of the village are more individual!

@kiwichick Sometimes they remind me of a village in Cornwall but certainly absolutely none in NZ!

Tucked under the hill, this is a very pretty village. That sky adds a lot of drama and I guess you had to run for cover when the heavens opened.
