Splitbeard Bluestem - Andropogon ternarius

I had to look up this little treasure find! I've been fascinated by it's lovely white fuzz since I found it back in September when it was just beginning to show it's soft white fuzzies. Now, I'd say it's in FULL FUZZ and it's so beautiful! It's a native wild grass in South Carolina and its stems are a blue-green in the summer and turn into this lovely kind of burgundy copper color in the winter. It reminds me of Santa's suit and whiskers!

This is so beautiful . . and we tend to overlook something like this every day. I can't believe how much more we see when we are holding a camera. Great pof, maam! And the color is perfect for this Season. God works in wondrous ways . . we just have to open our eyes. :)
