Watched this Viceroy for a few minutes and I don't think that proboscis came out of the flower for even a minute while he walked his way all the way up and down. Guess that's like rubbing your stomach and patting your head at the same time Not my strong suit
@terryliv The Wanderer and Monarch are the same butterflies - not sure why the two names. The Viceroy is similar in color and most markings, but you'll find the curved horizontal black line on the wings that is not there on the Monarch/Wanderer.
