Now He's More Normal

Though I haven't seen many of the Great Spangled Fritillary this year, he was at least more normal than my first find today. Still no where near the number of butterflies as last summer.

I have a friend who also made that same remark. I haven't been able to get out this year so can't remark. They are also saying that about bees too. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Beautiful light and color. I love the light coming through the wings. Butterflies are still pretty scarce here. I did see a Monarch yesterday though, which made me happy. I grow milkweed in my garden for them.
