Hate to be talking about what's "still" blooming in mid June - it's beginning to look and crunch like August around here. Saw one hummer a week ago and not since - this one fritillary - but no friends. And I had to chase him to get the shot!
It's been the opposite here- much cooler that usual for this time of year. But I'm told things should be heating up this week. I was enjoying it while it lasted! Nice capture.
A beautiful image but sad narrative. A similar story here, I have to leave my usually butterfly busy garden to see anything. Haven't even got Large or Small whites ovipositing on the cabbages I provide. Don't think I've even SEEN one and half way through June.
