Moving to the right of red, the next primary color is yellow, and the sunflowers I bought at the supermarket the other day were the perfect models!
Shot in color, converted to black and white and then painted the sunflower back in. Adjusted the contrast to make the white whiter and yellow brighter. It may seem strange to convert a perfectly good yellow to black and white and then paint it back in, but I've discovered this punches up the color even more. I don't know why it works that way, it just does!
hmmm...i shall try that trick next time. the sunflower looks lovely and lively. in hindsight, i should've brought a fake flower to the lake when i went over at lunch time, during the height of the blizzard. we're going down to -19 tonight. argh! i knew i should've stayed in manila.
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! Lemon yellow is pretty too. Could have done that but was focused on the sunflowers and forgot all about it!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! So sad to light the woodstove tonight after the warmer days we've had. Oh well, I must remind myself we're really not in Spring just yet.
Nice shot, Ann! What a great color! It makes me think the sun is out and melting off all that snow! Excellent detail, too. That's a lot of processing but you did it quite well. You are the queen of processing! Well done :)
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! I sort of fell into this pattern with the scissors and then decided to keep it for the whole week. Now I'm really committed to it and it's actually making the challenge more challenging!
@luvmynynix Thank you Laurie! They were so pretty when I saw them in the supermarket, they just had to come home with me!
not!

Thank you so much to everyone! Isn't it amazing how a color can just perk you up?! Your comments did the same for me!
