Circles on the Hearth

Playing around with a basket of fire starters next to our wood stove for today's circle shot. We won't be needing these for a few months!
I was wondering why you would need to be starting fires this time of year! I like the textures in this one and of course all those circles

Oh my goodness you have all made me hungry!!! Thanks so much for your comments- sure made me smile! I think it is the texture that I applied which gave it that "foodie" feeling. I wish I could send some of you in the colder parts of the world some of our warmth! Thanks for putting this one on the PP!

@ninaganci If you can imagine a slightly smaller version of those paper cups they put muffins or cupcakes in, that's the container. What's inside is wax, like candles are made of. You set the cup inside your woodstove with some kindling around it, or well-seasoned wood that can catch fire right away and light it with a match. The wax lights up and the wood catches on fire rather quickly. Using these reduces the amount of kindling you need to start a fire which is nice when you live in a small house like we do!

I've had a long day so I'm heading off to bed- I'll be back to catch up with your pictures tomorrow.
