Japanese Beetle by olivetreeann

Japanese Beetle

Japanese Beetles are unwanted guests here. They are invasive and damage leaves, flowers, shrubs, grass, and roots. Apparently they landed in the states in 1916 and were first discovered in New Jersey but quickly spread up and down the Atlantic Coast.
Great detail of this noxious pest. They have caused so much destruction to my roses and there isn’t much you can do to get rid of them except hand pick them off.

@ludwigsdiana Unfortunately I was not able to do that as this was taken in a national park and you cannot remove anything from them- so he stayed where he was. )o;

@jeanniec57 Sure- I have a couple other angles too and can send the pictures without the frame as well.

@gardencat Some folks have had success with those mesh bags around here. Thankfully we do not have them in our yard- but we don't have any of the plants they like either.
