Last minute entry for the What Would You Do? Challenge. Wish I'd thought of it sooner, but I think I should have made the sunburst go all the way around. But I've already spent two hours on it between merging photos and adding textures and I must move on to other things! It was a fun shot to work with.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @gphelps5 Thanks Graham! This is the second challenge that has come and gone on the discussion page so quickly and I just about missed it. I wish I'd seen it sooner. Now that I've done this I see all kinds of things I would have done differently-better! lol Yes, I guess this window is in the House of the Rising Sun!
Wow, this is wonderful - kaleidoscopic. So imaginative and memorable. It has indeed got a 60s psychedelic feel to it. I love the way you've done it. Great colour bursts, intriguing monument and the starry tree is magic. A fav.
@wamstreet Thanks Becky! No, it's a replica of an Early American glass pedestal candle. I'm looking into the base/pedestal on the yellow sections. It's actually a golden orange color which I put through some processing to get that carnival look. The background of the other two sections are the same shot, but when I over layed the wwyd picture I applied it in "hardlight" which added in the blues and greens you see there. @lyno Thank you Lyn! @kandernob Thank you Karen! And thank you so much for the fav!! It was a fun shot to work with. I was wishing I had a chess set because the monument really reminded me of a pawn. But since I don't I just started fooling around with it in iPiccy and this is what came out!
@anazad511 Thanks Ana! @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie! lol It always takes longer than I plan or expect! @sarasdadandmom Thank you Terry! I try! And there are so many creative people here- it's inspirational.
I actually laughed out loud at this, it's so exuberant. My entry was a redscale nightmare of end-of-the-world clouds and imminent doom; Sarah added raindrops ... and meanwhile on the other side of the pond we have an explosion of multicoloured sunbursts in a stained glass window. I'll vote for this, unless you've got anything more vibrant up your sleeve, Ann?
@automaticslim You are too funny! It was really a last minute "oh I should support Graham's hosting spot on the Album challenge" shot that I was only going to spend a few minutes on and then spent 2 hours! It's the only one- sorry! And I don't know, the ones I saw in the thread were much better than this. I'll be in shock if he puts it in the top 5. But I appreciate the support and good cheer! It makes me laugh too.
@eudora Thanks Diane. I started out with just the idea of doing one full picture, but then the background made me think of a stained glass window and my imagination was off and running!
Nice one Ann.
