After a night of blustery and forceful winds, we awoke to a calm day. The sky was still overcast but it was safe to venture outside to see what had dropped out of the trees during the night. We had relatively little debris, which surprised us. But we knew that others would have all kinds of clean-up to do. As I walked around and observed our yard, I found a survivor among the leaves. He'd taken a bit of a beating and still had some pebbles decorating his crown, but there he stood, proud as all get-out among the wet and matted leaves. Oh to have such resilience!
