Went out to try and capture a shot of the Red Shouldered Hawk who was sitting on the neighbor's swing set- epic fail!! But managed to discover another winged creature visiting my back yard today. He (and there were two pictures to show you the difference in my bug book) is a Fork-tailed Bush Katydid.
@espyetta I knew you'd like this one! @netkonnexion Thanks Damon! This little fellow proved also to be helpful in the "ratio" department. I knew exactly how many I took today (combined with my main album) and how many I kept. Now I just have to do the math!
Thanks for all the comments on the color- it's all him and he was easy to see since he was such a bright green.
@mhatch Thank you Mark- well, I don't know about better, but maybe just as good? @daisy Thanks Kathryn! They are tricky. I knew he was a bit skittish because my at first attempt to take his picture he jumped right away. But it worked to my advantage as this is where he landed and it was a better background. I just moved very slowly and tried to take as many as I could. I couldn't use the rapid fire setting because it wouldn't take a macro that way so I was really pleased when I ended up with 2 good shots out of the 50 or so that I took!
