I was thinking that I would continue with my "documentary" shots today and since I was experimenting in the kitchen, I thought it might be interesting to take a candid of the proceedings. I had a bunch of cranberries left from when the grandchildren and I made popcorn strands for the birds. So I poked around on line to see what I could make with them and decided it might be fun to try some cranberry/apple jam. I got everything peeled, rinsed and boiled in the pot only to find out I didn't have the traditional thickeners for jam. I ended up using tapioca! It turned out more like pie filling than jam- so "Experimenting with Cranberries Part 2" will take place tomorrow as I hunt for a coffee cake recipe I can add my "jam" to!
Shot in color, converted to black and white after sharpening, minor color saturation and temperature adjustments, and raising the contrast so that the colors would "stand out" in black and white. After converting the shot to black and white using a green filter (which I decided upon because my top was green), I also used the cross-process effect and the fireside effect in Ribbet to make the shot what I felt was a little more journalistic.
@prttblues Thanks Bev! That's the cross-processing that gives it the sepia feel. @twr Thank you Timothy! @sangwann Thank you Dione! @digitalrn Thank you Rick!
@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! It actually worked! I used a coffee cake recipe that I used to mix raisins, nuts and cinnamon in. The batter has sour cream in it. It really worked well with the cranberry mixture although I did have to cover it with tin foil and cook it a little longer than the original recipe. The cranberries are not too sugary and the batter is nice and moist. Definitely a Yum! factor going on there!
@twr Thank you Timothy!
