My original intent for this shot was to convert it to black and white for the book club. But it lost the dof (shallow as it is) when it was completely black and white. However in the completely color version, the icicles disappeared into the grill. In the end, I chose to convert to black and white, but to paint back in color the icicles and the red of the car. It gave me the definition I was looking for.
@kporte Thanks Keith! I just keep working at it until I like what I see. @rangerxenos Thank you Dawn! It definitely needed the red. @luvmynynix Thank you Laurie! Like I told Keith, I just keep fiddling with the picture until I like what I see.
Nice shot, Ann! And a very creative way to really bring out the icicles! I would never have thought of that!! You are teaching me so much! Now I know how to make icicles stand out more!! Thank you! Well done :)
Thank you Kerri, Maggie, Terry, Bev, Hope, Yao, Taffy, Nicole, and Daisy! This shot is a good example of how processing can really help a picture out under the right circumstances.

Thank you Rick, Timothy, and Sally! As with a lot of wintery things- they were here today and gone tomorrow. Glad I took the shot when I did!
