"Frosty the Snowman" (or "Frosty the Snow Man") is a popular Christmas song written by Walter "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson. It was first recorded by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys in 1950 and was then later recorded by Jimmy Durante, who released it as a single that same year.
The song tells the tale of Frosty who comes to life when some children place a magical top hat on his head. While playing around town with the children Frosty gets in trouble with a policeman and decides to leave. In the original lyrics he promises to return "someday" but those lyrics were changed in the 1969 TV animated show to "Christmas Day" and they've remained in place ever since.
The Critters met this "Frosty" when I was doing my Christmas decorating the other day.
Thank you so much everyone- and a special thanks to all who fav'd our version of Frosty. I'm off to my photo club's Christmas party so I'll be back tomorrow to catch up with you.
