Fish Tale

I'm meeting with my Salon friends tomorrow. The plan is to bring pictures of what we did with last month's table top shots. Mine were not really worth much so I decided to play around with this one. I kind of like how it ended up- reminds me of a gold fish. Do you see it?

I can see a Betta fish or a Fan Tailed Guppy. But also can see an exotically painted eye with long eyelashes. What is a table top shot?

Table top photography, according to my definition, can range from set-ups like oil and water shots to light boxes with small items such as a key or buttons to little scenarios set right up on your table. Table top photography can include those smoke shots you see, the water glass refraction shots, water drops on a CD, basically anything you can set up on a table and photograph.

There may be a more technical or expertly explained definition out there on the web and a few folks here on 365 may have an even more extensive sample of table top shots- but that should be enough to give you a basic understanding.
