Shoal Bay looking towards The Heads by onewing

Shoal Bay looking towards The Heads

The last day of autumn today and a beautiful day. We went for a walk up Tomaree, the headland on the right of this picture. The headland on the left is called Yacaaba.

This photo is taken at Shoal Bay looking towards The Heads. This side of the ocean is inside the bay and out through the heads is the open ocean.

Must go out in a boat there soon as the whales are heading north at the moment from Antarctica to give birth in warmer waters.

Today's black and white photo

@flyrobin @gigiflower @jackie8 @ourrube @hermann @beryl @dianeburns @rachelm @darthkitty @lafish @pittcj17 @lilminimonka @kwind Thanks so much. This was a bit of a practice run to try and find a spot to take a photo of the human whale thing today, but unfortunately, nowhere suitable without trees in the way. Needed a helicopter really, but ours is in for service at the moment, ha ha. (I wish).

@tomtom Thanks Andrew, it is a bit of a hike up Tomaree, but it is paved some of the way and then steps right up to the top. Still a bit steep though.
Yacaaba which is the headland on the left is more of a challenge. Climbed that one last year and that is a rough climb. You just have to make your way along tracks.

@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel. Walked this beach twice now in the last couple of days. Don't think the knees will cope with a third day. he sand is so soft.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. Not so sure about running into the sea, it is the beginning of winter here now and the sea is getting pretty chilly.

@chimfa It is a lovely place to walk and not too many people here now either.

@happypat Thanks Pat. It is a lovely beach.

@elaine55 Did you climb Tomaree? Lovely view from the top.

@mcmary @april16 @macromover Thanks so much. We are lucky that we have so many beautiful beaches around the bay.

@karlow75 Not got too cold here yet. I am sure winter will hit pretty soon though. We have a wood burner fire and have only had to light it twice so far.
