Human Sculpture by onewing

Human Sculpture

Friday people day again and I took the photo of this very creepy chap at Circular Quay when we were in Sydney recently. We saw him as we were going to the Opera House to see The King and I and he was still sitting there a few hours later, so I took his photo. He beckoned me over and I had a chat to him and put some money in his tin.

It is really creepy talking to someone when you can't see their eyes. He was a strange fellow with a very creepy voice. How he manages to sit there for hours on end without moving I have no idea. It was a hot day too.

Today's topic photo - pairs

Creepy/spooky indeed Babs. I saw one just like this in London, but even more worrying because he appeared to be levitating, holding a walking stick which was the only visible point of contact with the ground. Truly amazing!

Fab shots. And yes, I couldn't do that, I would have to fidget, or go to the loo or something.

Excellent shot

Great shot Babs, not easy to get that detail on a completely silver man, how they stay so still so long I don't know;)

Nice capture! Glad you gave him a bit of money :)

These guys are so creepy! I spoke to one in Brisbane a few weeks ago. He hovers in a seating position (not actually sitting on anything!) for about 5 hours. I can't imagine how painful it would be on the thighs!

I agree about the no eyes thing... I don't know how some of these statues stay still for so long, especially in the heat!

I am on catch up again today. Glad you liked my creepy man. He frightened the life out of me when he moved while I was taking his photo. He must have been so hot inside all those clothes as it was quite a warm day. don't know how they do this in the middle of summer.

It may be a kind of meditation. I hope you enjoyed the show.

I first encountered this type of street art while visiting London. They are fascinating to watch especially people's reactions when they walk by not realizing they're human. This one is creepy with that mask. Didn't your Mom teach you not to talk to strangers?
