Labyrinth by onewing

Labyrinth

We have been in Newcastle all day today as I had a medical appointment there and tonight we are out at the golf club.

An underwater photographer friend of ours is giving a presentation at the golf club about his photography and the marine environment in our area.

Who remembers David Bowie in Labyrinth? This fantastic piece of street art is on Hunter Street in Newcastle and was part of the Hit the Bricks Festival. It was painted by street artist Dan Prestage.

Dan is a barber at Deadhead Barber Shop in Newcastle but secretly is a well accomplished fine artist with skills ranging from painting through to sculpture and fashion. He is also a deft
hand at cutting a mean haircut apparently.

Dan started his career as a hairdresser in Melbourne but rapidly decided the more relaxed lifestyle of a barber was more his speed. His barbershop looks a lot out of the ordinary, with zombie paraphernalia and rockabilly imagery spread around his shop.

Looks a fun place for a haircut!

This afternoon I am going to a talk on "Royal Bastards" by a really interesting speaker who is a member of the Richard III Society. Then I have to do some shopping as for the first time in days I have to cook dinner tonight. Will be out for dinner every night for the rest of the week though, so not too bad. ha ha.
