We have been out at our regular wine tasting barbeque today, so no photos taken.
Every couple of months a group of us have a get together and sample various wines. Last month we were the hosts and each month a different couple host the barbeque at their home. The person who is the host provides the meat for the barbeque and the rest of us take along various additional things. Salads, nibbles, dips, cheese and biscuits, desserts, etc and the person who is the host buys the wine and we then share the cost of the wine.
We have a brilliant time and today was a lovely day with lots of sunshine and just right as far as the weather was concerned.
Today's photo is a collage of close ups of some of the sand sculptures at Frankston which I have posted earlier. As you can see these are all Star Wars characters. There are some very talented people out there.
A couple of you asked previously how the sand stays together. I believe the sand they use is builders sand which is a mixture I think of sand and cement. Could be wrong though.
I think these photos are safe Kat @darthkitty and Sally @hermann, Paula, @paulaw and Peter @pcoulson but I have had a couple of drinks today, so I could be wrong. Fingers crossed.
Amazing...saw the exhibit in January...but did not go in...as the entrance fee was a bit expensive for us, especially when I did work then and my husband is on a pension.
Aren't they marvellous -- great artistic achievements of much patience and accuracy .All the love and effort so quickly and easily destroyed !! A super collage of beautiful shots .
@pusspup Yes they are sand sculptures and yes they are amazing. If you look at this picture http://365project.org/onewing/365/2015-03-15 you can see the size of them next to the person in the picture, they are massive. Such a lot of work.
Great collage. Geek girl has to love the Star Wars!. Slightly worried about what was approaching Darth Maul for a while, but phew worked out it was Palpatine's chin (i hope!) ;)
Well, of course I had to go find what all the commotion was about didn't I?!! I did have a good laugh, don't know how I missed it first time round! These really are amazing, I don't know how they do such a perfect job.
They are amazing Babs, such talented people and a super collage of them. I like the sound of your wine tastings, definitely something to try when my husband retires in the (possibly not too distant) future!
@yaorenliu@paulaw Thank you both. Our wine tasting days are brilliant and we have great fun. There are usually between 12 and 18 of us at our get togethers and we all take it in turns to host the day. The host buys 4 red wines and 4 white wines and then we cover them up with brown paper and usually guess either what price we think they are or what type of wine it is etc. or some kind of test, but nothing too serious. We then share the cost of those wines and usually each couple takes another bottle along too just for recreational purposes you understand, ha ha.
Also the host for the day provides the meat at the barbeque and the rest of us all take along something to contribute to the day, either nibbles, cheese and biscuits, salads, potato salads, desserts etc and we all have a great time. You should give it a go.
