We have been at Tocal Homestead today to their annual Peek into the Past open day.
It is very difficult to get photos on these occasions without having people who are milling around drifting into your photo, but I managed to get this chap with his horse and cart.
By the way, the building in the background isn't the homestead, it is just one of the cottages on the property. the homestead is much grander than this cottage.
Gorgeous capture Babs its like going back in time, I always try to get my images people free, you have ages some time and still not manage it, I had a devil of a job during my 1940's weekend:)
Love the peek into past events. Great composition here, lovely views and nice shot of the horse and cart. Checked out the homestead shot, what a place!
@julzmaioro@quietpurplehaze Thanks. I think I must have caught the horse at the wrong time because he wasn't really tired. He was just on his way to give cart rides to visitors, so hadn't started in this picture. He is a Clydesdale and his name is Harry.
@quietpurplehaze@pcoulson Thank you both. Luckily I spotted this chap just bringing out Harry the Clydesdale to start giving the kiddies rides so it was on the edge of the property and not many people around to get in the way of my photo. Luckily we have been to Tocal Homestead previously on days when there isn't actually a special event and it is much easier to get photos of the buildings then. A lovely place to visit. Lots of pastoral history.
... where the deer and the antelope play! Lovely scene from days gone by and great that no pesky people wandered into you shot. I've spent quite a bit of time this week cloning out people from my shots!!!!
@eyesmile@paulaw Thanks. A bit late to reply to this shot though. I was lucky to be able to take this photo as they were just appearing to give people rides and this is right on the edge of the property so no visitors around.
