Incy Wincy Spider by onewing

Incy Wincy Spider

Don't you just hate it when you walk into a web, at night, where one of these things is living. Luckily I managed to spot him before I walked into him.

He measures about 6 cm and the web is so strong.

Thanks so much to everyone who has commented on my photos since I came back from holiday in New Zealand and sorry I haven't had chance to reply individually to you all.

Since returning I have had a dreadful sore throat, cough and cold and it has taken me a few days to get back on track.

I have now caught up with the unpacking, washing, ironing, shopping etc and I am back to the reality of the real world after being on a ship for two weeks. I have now got my land legs back again too.
oh yes I hate it. I dont like spiders at all but you have to admit this fellow is rather pretty

I really like these spiders, but they do have a tendency to make their webs in inconvenient places.

what a beautiful girl - one of the orb weaver variety I think - whenever I walk through a web at night I just worry I will hurt her

@cruiser I agree it is beautiful and such gorgeous markings.
December 28th, 2015
@beryl Thanks Beryl. Luckily because they are so large they are easy to see unless they manage to make a web in a sneaky spot. The webs are like wire though

It's not easy typing with your eyes closed and hid behind the settee, I have a phobia of incy, wincy spiders. Well netted.
