Hello Sailor by onewing

Hello Sailor

Last year I posted regular Friday people photos and I thought I would give it another go occasionally this year too.

I took the photo of this couple at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival a few months ago, but the background was rather busy and there were lots of other people in the photo too, so I thought I would cut and paste them into a much nicer setting.

Here they at Soldiers Point jetty which seems a much more appropriate setting for a sailor and his girlfriend.
Neat shot... a shot from the past..

@julzmaioro @onlyme111 @quietpurplehaze @inthecloud5 @cruiser @hermann @happysnaps @dianeburns @novab @pusspup @beryl @soboy5 @mittens @cmp @rosiekind @jackie8 @seattlite @ladymagpie @tonygig @karens54 @pcoulson @taffy @helenhall @dawnee @bkbinthecity @kwind @beachdog @pippie Thanks for your lovely comments and favs. The Kurri Kurri festival is very 1950s and I thought this couple deserved a better background to the crowds that were around them at the festival.

@ethelperry Thanks Ethel. I am having a very quiet weekend and it is lovely to be able to recharge my batteries

@rjb71 Here you go Richard, I have put the black and white version in my topics album. http://365project.org/onewing/topics/2016-06-18
I like b&w, but I do prefer the colour version on this shot.
June 18th, 2016
@golftragic Thanks Marnie. The Kurri Kurri Festival is all about the 1950s and it is a great day out. I thought this couple deserved a better background though which is why I transported them to Soldiers Point.
The jetty isn't too long, I think it is just the perspective.

Fantastic, now I see the full story I realised they had been super emposed as the feet looked odd! Great place to plant them on that wonderful jetty!
June 18th, 2016
I agree.. i think the colour version is better. You've done a great job here Babs. Just a small suggestion,if you could edit in a shadow for the couple it would finish this off beautifully
June 18th, 2016
This is fabulous. I really don't know which version I like best.
June 18th, 2016
@deborah63 I did think about a shadow Debbie and it really did need one but my time was a bit limited and I ran out of time. I will have another go at it sometime and put a shadow in. I agree it would look better.
