It has bucketed down with rain all day today, so no photos.
I did go out a couple of times to Bunnings to buy a new toilet seat and new door and drawer knobs for the bathroom vanity and got soaked both times.
I took this photo yesterday when I put out some bread and seed for the lorikeets, as you can see it was very popular.
Not sure just how many rainbow lorikeets there were here but probably in the region of 40 or 50 at any one time. The food didn't last long as you can imagine.
What a treat to have these colourful birds in your garden Babs, the biggest contrast between the UK & Australia I think! You would never see birds like this & wild in your garden too. Would take some getting over the thrill I think!
This looks so unreal to me. I am glad you explained that they were actually all there otherwise I might have concluded that they were all expertly photoshopped in. What a scene!
@paulmann Thanks Paul. I spend as little time as possible at Bunnings. David is the one who has to visit regularly. I think his car can get there on autopilot.
@happypat Thanks Pat. Not only were there about 80 lorikeets here, some in the trees that you can't see in this shot, but there were also a gang noisy miners waiting their turn, a couple of butcher birds and four kookaburras that I was feeding with raw mince too. They all know where to come for lunch.
