Clear blue skies and blustery winds today, quite chilly too, winter has returned for a few days I believe.
You can see how breezy it was if you look at the spray on the waves.
In the distance you can see the Stockton Sand Dunes. They begin at Anna Bay and go all the way to Stockton in Newcastle. 32 kms of dunes. I believe they are the largest continuous mobile sand dunes in the southern hemisphere. I would imagine that the sand has shifted somewhat today in all this wind.
Simply gorgeous seascape Babs full of lovely colour and detail, we are having a mini heatwave with temperatures between 26 and 30 degrees C for the last week its expected to last this week then back to rain, lol:)
@ethelperry@cruiser Thanks, Birubi Beach at Anna Bay where the dunes begin is my favourite beach. I just love the sand dunes. When you are there walking over them they just seem to go on for ever.
@golftragic It was more than wild Marnie, it was positively furious. The air temperature wasn't too bad I believe but the wind chill factor gave me goose bumps.
@onewing Looks pretty damned awful Babs. We've been having a series of intense lows coming through, each of which brings fierce winds and squalls with it. Luvvly!
The sea does look abit rampant, nice to see such a clear blue sky though. 20 miles of dunes and moving sand, how amazing, is the whole distance walkable?
