Because David is still quite poorly with pneumonia I have had a domestic stay at home day today catching up with chores in the home.
I thought I would have a play with the photos taken in the Newcastle Museum café and make a collage of the various metal advertising signs on the walls of the café.
Love these old adverts - so naive and unambiguous. Hope David feels much better soon. (My domestic days usually end up being more photographic than domestic!)
@quietpurplehaze I did some domestic stuff. Two loads of washing and the ironing and then had a chat to my daughter and grandkids after they had all wished David Happy Father's Day. A little bit of photography and then caught up with a couple of documentaries that we had on record on the dvd recorder.
Wishing David a speedy recovery Babs, .I love old signs as it reminds me of my gran's village shop and I always like to spot the ones I remember from my childhood !
Something about these old signs which fascinate us I think. So colourful & I recognise some of the stuff advertised unfortunately, perhaps that's why I like them!
What a great collage Babs, I don't recognise any of the products, but the "tobacco pleases everyone" has me raising my eyebrows! Wouldn't see that around today in light of what we now know.
I'm still playing catch up at the moment Babs and hadn't heard about David. I do hope he's on the mend. Love these old enamelled advertising signs. They are very popular over here and quite expensive at auction
I am on catch up atm Babs...full time at school on an exhausting class
I hope David is on the mend. Am hoping to try and catch up with you in a couple of weeks
@helenhall Not too much trouble at all really, it all just fell into place. The only problem I had was when David asked me to do something just at the point where I had 16 layers open in Photoshop.
I saw one of the signs for the Bristol Piano Company on eBay and it sold for $600. I wish I had have kept the metal signs from outside our grocery shop when I was a child. They could be worth a fortune now.
David is feeling much better this evening. He has to go back to the doctors on Thursday to assess what state his lungs are in. He isn't rattling so much any more.
A very profitable day!
Love this collage. I have a jigsaw with a similar image.

I spent the morning gardening, I was out this afternoon and then later this afternoon I finished the gardening, shovelling soil.
