Natural Sponge by onewing

Natural Sponge

While we were walking along the headland a couple of evenings ago I came across this natural sponge that had blown onto the grass from the beach.

You can't really see the size of it here, but it is slightly bigger than my hand.
Really like how you can see all those tiny fibres.

Could you use it in this natural state Babs or do they treat them for use in the shower! I can imagine you taking it home using that!

Am I the only one looking at a head shaped sponge? It is the first thing that jumped out of me and I thought it had been deliberately shaped as in sculpture. What a find!

@pcoulson @leggzy Thanks and no I didn't take it home. We have got enough 'stuff' in our house.
September 15th, 2016
@stephanies Thanks Stephanie, we don't see them too often. Usually after we have had storms or strong winds.

@quietpurplehaze Would probably need treating before it got to the bath stage of its life.
September 15th, 2016
@happypat Thanks Pat. I think it would need some sort of treatment before it got to being able to use it in the bath. I didn't take it home, we have got lots of stuff in our house alredady.

@helenhall I can see the head now you mention it, well spotted.

This is really cool, what a neat find! I liked Pat's comment, I didn't know it'd need some type of treatment first...
