I am a bit late posting today because we have been out all day.
A few months ago the MFPIAC subject was musical instruments and I collected together six pictures of musical instruments to use in the theme. Unfortunately, as usual it was rather hectic here at the time and I never put the photos into a collage.
A few days ago I came across the photos again and decided to use them for my Friday people photo, so here they are.
Can anyone name all the instruments? Answers will be given tomorrow.
Great collection Babs , I think I can name them.....Didgeridoo...Guitar....Piano Accordion.... Saxophone....Hang ( drum ) which we heard played in Port Douglas......a Stroh or Horn Violin which we heard played in Dublin, Ireland... Fantastic...Fav
Stunning collage full of wonderful images Babs such an eclectic mix of instruments would have been an excellent entry in that mfpiac- music challenge, look out for mfpiac-55 starting Sunday:)
What a great collection! Let me see....sax, accordion, guitar, I think the first one is a didgeridoo, then some sort of steel drum? The last one - bottom right, never seen anything like that before...
Great collage- I'm glad someone already spelled Didgeridoo because I couldn't attempt it! Top right- guitar, middle- accordion, lower right is new to me, so I can't name it (although I see someone has), Bottom middle hang drum (love the sound of those things!) and lower left saxophone. Well done collage!
I wonder if it was the same chap playing the hang drum (or handpan) in Port Douglas because he travels around Australia busking. We saw him in Melbourne. Here he is playing on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wonrRPr1oM4
@stephanies Nice try Stephanie. You got most of them. I will tell you all what they are below, check out the next message and I will post links to some of the instruments too.
@olivetreeann Well done Ann, you guessed most of them. I love the sound of the hand drum (or handpan) too, it is quite magical. The one you didn't guess is the stroh violin. If you check out the next message I will post links to some of the instruments.
The handpan, or hang drum had a lot of people foxed too and it is a wonderful sound. Here is the same chap in the picture playing the handpan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wonrRPr1oM4
So interesting to hear that stroh violin, thanks for posting the links Babs, it's not as clean and pure as a violin with a wooden surround that's for sure, but interesting to hear and see it all the same.
@taffy Thanks Taffy. I love the sound of the handpan. I had never heard it before until I took the photo of the busker in Melbourne.
We saw him at the shopping centre, not long after my daughter Zoe died and the sound of the music really filled my empty soul.
Love the collage, so much fun.
Our sun have a Didgeridoo.

The instruments from top left to right are didgeridoo, guitar, accordion, stroh-violin, handpan (or hang drum), and saxophone.
Here are links to some of the instruments.
For our oversees viewers who haven't heard a didgeridoo here is what it sounds like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgwsGjRk61M

And the one that had most people fooled is a stroh-violin. Not the nicest sound in my opinion and here is what it sounds like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y82pYGUSMI8
