As I have been posting photos from our recent Canberra trip I thought I would finish that theme over the next two days with photos taken on our last day in Canberra.
The final stop during our trip to Canberra was to The Arboretum, created after the area was burned out as a result of the Christmas 2001 and 2003 Canberra bushfires.
The site has been planted since 2005, and includes ceremonial trees planted by visiting heads of government and ambassadors. It was officially opened in February 2013.
In the distance you can see the Telstra Tower built in 1980. The tower rises 195 metres above the summit of Black Mountain.
Thanks everyone for your lovely comments on my Little Planet photo yesterday.
Nice depth of field Babs. Try and return in 5 years time and see the difference. Our National Arboretum looked very sparse when I first saw it but now its grown, its very relaxing and peaceful to walk through.
What a long and beautiful open view, I can see the trees are quite young yet. Interesting shape that tower has, I goggled it, I see it is quite a tourist attraction. Have you been there Babs?
