Tycho by onewing

Tycho

So glad you are enjoying my week of David's astronomical photos.

In this shot you can see a close up of the moon and here is what David has written about this photo.

Around 108 Million years ago an asteroid the size of a small mountain
impacted the moon near its south pole. Rock at the point of impact
vaporised causing a blast which created a crater 86 Km across with
ejected material scattered up to 1500 Km across the lunar surface -
possibly even to earth. Today we call the crater Tycho after the Danish
astronomer Tycho Brahe. Photo taken through a telescope using direct
focus onto the camera sensor.
Looks like David had a trip in the space.
