love to see a Town Crier. When we were passing through Chester. UK a few years we chanced upon a International Town Crier competition. Their cries and costumes were magnificent and we even saw one from Australia.
@rjb71 His personality did match his outfit. I had a chat to him earlier and also took a photo of him, before I knew he was going to welcome this train which we rode on to Branxton and back to Maitland.
@olivetreeann Although this train isn't terribly old, it is a vintage train, It was built in the 1930s in Redfern, Sydney and has S Class street side corridor carriages. I am going to post a shot of one of the carriages today.
I have a friend who is a town crier. He absolutely revels in the role and gets involved in all sorts of events because of it. Certainly a job for someone with a good sense of humour and slightly eccentric character!
