Thanks so much to the amazing response to yesterday's oil and water half and half photo and for putting it on the PP.
Today's half and half I took a while ago when I used a version of this photo for a pairs theme I was doing.
I nearly got arrested in the supermarket for taking this photo, because apparently you aren't allowed to take photos in Coles Supermarket. Why, I have no idea, but that is what the chap told me when I took this photo with my phone.
Nicely captured! And I found out the same thing when I tried to take a photo of the flower selection at Publix (I was helping with a wedding shower and wanted to show the co-host the different colors) Not sure in this day and age why it would be a problem!
Wonderful half & half shot! Very interesting that photos aren't allowed in your supermarkets . . . I wonder if it's the same here. I'll have to try the next time I'm shopping for groceries and see what happens. :-)
Works great for the half and half theme. I have taken pictures in my supermarket but have never been stopped by anyone. Of course I do my best to not be noticed but I'm sure the security cameras see me!
@dide@inthecloud5@gigiflower@littleconnie@cruiser@linnypinny@gaylewood@leggzy@rjb71@olivetreeann Thanks everyone. I didn't want to get arrested for taking photos, not before lunch at least. ha ha.
Apparently there is a notice on the doors of our shopping centre saying no photos, so it isn't only in the supermarket. I have taken lots of photos in the shopping centre but have been careful not to get caught since my first encounter. I have taken photos at shopping centres in Newcastle and there hasn't been a problem. Must be a bit picky down where I live. Maybe they thought I was planning a robbery.
I probably shouldn't have laughed at the chap who told me 'no photos' and I did say 'the fruit and veg aren't wanted by the police are they'. It didn't go down well, but you have to have a sense of humour don't you.
He did say that he should ask me to delete my photos and I said 'OK ask me' and he said there was no need for that. I replied 'Wise move' ha ha.
Great idea for half and half. I know one of the major shopping centres has signs on the doors advising that photography is prohibited. Luckily we don't have that issue at any of our local centres :)
Oh my gosh, I have taken shots in the supermarkets around my way and no one stopped me - I guess I should add 'yet' anyway. I was in a hospital a few weeks back visiting a friend and I got told I couldn't take any pics there... I asked why and the guard couldn't say, I said there are no signs around saying I can't take pics and he had no answer to that either... I still managed to sneak my birds eye view pic from there though :) Great subject choice for this topic, I am enjoying seeing your pics Babs, I kind of run out of inspiration and ideas for it.
Oh how ridiculous. They sound like a right jobsworth. What could you possibly have been doing?! I'm glad you managed to get the shot. Great half and half xx
Interested to read your narrative. I often take pictures in shops and have never been challenged. Sometimes it is the best way to find out if you have located the right item, by sending a photo for confirmation. Oh well, you got the shot and it is a good one.
Great idea for half and half.
