I haven't been able to catch up with 365 today because I had a medical appointment this morning and I had to drive David to his medical appointment this afternoon as he isn't able to drive at the moment.
I have decided that I am not cooking dinner tonight so we are just about to go out for a meal.
As I am limited on time to take photos at present I am posting photos taken on a recent day out at Paterson.
On the wall outside the Post Office in Paterson (see yesterday's photo) I spotted this stamp machine. Who remembers these?
I am sure it won't be long before stamps disappear all together and replaced with just franked postage marks on all letters and parcels.
I'd forgotten all about these machines, we had them in the Isle of Man long after the rest of the world had moved on!
Hope things are improving for you both, it's no fun when you've got so many appointments, good idea to let someone else do the cooking :-)
I don't remember those , but a funny stamp story:
when I was a kid and stamps were maybe 20 cents each... I LOVED stickers...
I put "stickers" ( my Mom's stamps) ALL over 2 pages of paper I had... like an entire roll
@onewing Well there we go Babs after a Google search to look at the history of postage stamp vending machines in the UK,
Machines located on Post Office property did start appearing 1890 and a variant is still about to day located in predominately in tourist areas they dispensed 1st class, 2nd class, Postcards (outside Europe) rate and Airmail (maximum 10g) rate stamps, clearly I must have seen a machine that dispensed stamps just can't recall them, every days a school day, lol:)
