I was trying out the little Lumix TZ80 for a friend of mine and putting it through its paces.
Both he and I were very impressed with its performance when I showed him the pictures. I think my friend, who is disabled and can't cope with a DSLR very easily, will be buying this camera pretty soon.
Nice, lovely simplicity. I am looking for a new camera at present - both my "handbag" camera (old and much beaten up Olympus SZ-31MR) and my Nikon D3100 are showing distinct signs of ageing. Ha, aren't we all! Did you find the Lumix very lightweight or heavy enough to resist shake?
Gorgeous capture and great use of empty space. I have a Panasonic FZ45 which takes very good photos, too. Its only setback is that it doesn't handle 'noise' very well.
@casablanca I haven't used this little camera very much and it will have its limitations, but is very lightweight and fits in my pocket. I am very impressed with the quality of pictures especially on macro. I was trialing it for a friend who is wheelchair bound and wants a compact camera for days when he isn't able to use his DSLR. I may even buy this one myself as a 'handbag' camera.
