I am pleased you enjoyed my Hunter Valley Gardens Lights photos. I will post some of the ones with a Christmas theme closer to the big day.
While we were out with our walking group in bushland last Thursday, one of our walking group spotted this tawny frogmouth in a tree. They blend in so well that I was amazed she spotted him.
A tawny frogmouth is a species of frogmouth native to Australia. Because of their big heads, stocky build and nocturnal habits they are often mistaken for owls.
I was quite surprised to see this chap with his eyes open, but he was probably keeping his eye on the people who were photographing him.
Once we moved on he probably went back to sleep until night time.
He wouldn't have been disturbed too much Sally after we walked on because we were in rather a remote part of the bushland.
