This photo of the Newcastle ocean baths was taken from the top of the steps leading down to the Bogey Hole that featured in yesterday's shot. The ocean baths are about 1 km from the Bogey Hole, so I used lots of zoom for this photo.
The ocean baths were constructed, and in use before WW1, though not formally opened until the 1920s. The construction of the Art Deco pavilion you can see in this shot began in 1922.
@pcoulson This is the ocean baths Peter, not the Bogey Hole and the baths are quite big. There are two pools, one behind the pavilion and the closest one to us in this picture is the kiddy pool.
@maggiemae Newcastle is about 60 km from where I live so not a local place for a dip.
Here is a clip from one of our local beaches taken at Easter last year. Fingal Bay is about 10 km from our house. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XpyV0jvYFY

@leananiemand Not freezing at all Leana, it is the middle of summer here in Australia and the sea temperature is around 26 degrees C. It will probably be warmer in the ocean pools.
@happypat No cold Pat. It is summer here and as I said to Leana the water temperature is around 26 degrees C at the moment. Cooler than it was on land but refreshing because this particular day it was around 32 degrees C as we walked along the waterfront.
