A few years ago I went on a tour of Port Waratah Coal Services in Newcastle and recently a friend of ours said he would like to visit. So last week I organized a tour with some friends and yesterday was the day of the talk and the tour. We all had a lovely day.
After the talk about PWCS we were driven around the site by the chap who gave the talk.
Here you can see us driving under the conveyor belts that transport the coal from the reclaimer (the machine in the distance) to the stockpile ready to be loaded onto ships.
Over the next couple of days I will put together a couple of collages of the tour.
@mave@quietpurplehaze There were 6 of us, we were in a Tarago taking these photos and Narelle and I were in the back row of seats, so I think we did pretty well to get some photos.
I don't know if the palace/castle/ or what in my yesterday's post is open to visitors. But having seen the security around the place I don't expect so.
There's so much we don't know or realise about ordinary things...like coal. It's a refreshing change to read about your fascinating tour, thank you for sharing it with us.
