While I was walking over the dunes at Birubi I spotted this coke can. I loved the way the low sunlight was caught in the metal.
I think the can must have been there for quite some time looking at the state of it, but after I had taken the photo I did put the can in a waste bin by the surf club. I didn't want anyone standing on the sharp metal, especially as it is quite rusty.
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments and favs on yesterday's Candy Stripe photo and for putting it on the TP and the PP.
This sort of things makes me so angry. It's careless and thoughtless to leave anything behind anywhere, so well done for picking it up after you've used it for your project. It does make for a cool image. That little patch of glinting sunlight looks great :)
@hermann@paul10@sailingmusic@quietpurplehaze@louannwarren@pdulis@sangwann@stakade Thanks. To be fair this can was in a rather remote part of the dunes and not actually on the beach. As you can see it has been there for a while but even so maybe a young child wouldn't be likely to be walking in this part of the dunes, but a dog who can roam free here or maybe one of the horses or camels that are ridden regularly in this area could have be harmed.
Oh this brings back memories, When I was young I jumped on some glass hidden in the sand dunes and severed a tendon. Why people leave rubbish around I will never know
@yaorenliu@cruiser It was a long way from the ocean, the dunes are over a kilometre wide and 32 kilometres long, so I think this can has been buried a few times as the sand shifts.
