These cakes may look delicious, but you would be foaming at the mouth if you ate them, they are made of soap.
I saw these lovely cakes of soap on one of the stalls at the market on Sunday.
I believe the term a ‘cake of soap’ is the old-fashioned way of saying a ‘bar of soap’. It possibly comes from the fact that soap was made in large blocks and then cut into slices.
Those look so edible! There is a shop in the village we got to in Austria where they still have cakes of soap and they carve you off a piece to buy. I love it!
PS I am having take two of the endoscopy tomorrow under general anaesthetic this time. I am guessing the consultant will be wearing armour!!

@hrs I wonder if people would use them too, not so sure I would fancy a cake decoration in my bathroom though.
@helenhall I'm with you Helen, I prefer the food too. Not a fan either of soap that smells like mango or orange, or other fruit, who wants to smell like a mango.
@lesip I doubt they would be actually used as soap either, just bought as a novelty I should imagine.
