The Last Day of Winter by onewing

The Last Day of Winter

Today is the last day of winter in Australia and hopefully it will start to get warm again now.

Luckily even in winter we don't have cold days every day, but today has been quite chilly and this afternoon it has even rained for only the second time this month.

When I saw these sad geraniums it really made me think of winter so I thought it would be a good photo for today.

Fitting for end of winter. I like how aspects of beauty are exposed in the dying of the flower.

You made my day... I did not realise it was the last day of winter but these flowers truly represent the day I had.... Got drenched at work in a downpour. 😂

Great photo for the end of your winter. It's the end of our summer, so we are hoping it will start cooking a little. If course, September is really mostly a continuation of our summer, just not triple digets, so we will take it. I love the changing seasons.

Forecast says 20 degrees C, a good start to the beginning of Spring. I do hope we get some Spring rain though because during August, our last month of winter, we only had 12 mm rain for the whole month according to our rain gauge. We could be in for a really bad bushfire season if we don't get some decent rain soon.

While here we are sad to see the last day of summer holidays arriving far too quickly.

Lovely shot Babs, great details. First day of spring today and we got soaked on the golf course from some dirty black clouds that blew in from Bass Strait.
September 1st, 2018
@taffy It has been a lovely day here today for the first day of spring.

@golftragic What a shame Marnie, we could do with some rain here though. Checked our rain gauge and we have only had 12 mm rain in the whole of August.
It has been a beautiful day today and we have been out for lunch at a friends house. We all sat outside on the patio in glorious weather.

A very appropriate post for the last day of winter. Sadly it’s the last day of summer here but it’s been a good one.

@onewing Just one of those (not)lovely surprises we get straight off Bass Strait. I don't think Geelong got it, but we sure did. Finished up abandoning our game and settling in for coffee and goss.

We too are leaving our summer behind. Lovely colours and textures
