Every time we go to Newcastle we pass this bus in the paddock of a property at Bobs Farm and I have been photographing it for a few years.
As you can see it has deteriorated somewhat over the years and I have no idea why the people who own the property haven't got rid of it. Maybe it has nostalgic value to them.
Lovely comparison over time Babs, it looks very sorry for itself such a shame, I suspect its an export Leyland Double Decker, it came a long way to get in this state:)
Well that is a sad end tomthe old bus. Such a pretty blue it is too, I'm surprised no one has moved it to the scrap yard, is scrap not wirth anything in Australia? I suppose it really should have been moved while it could be driven....probably too late now!
@pcoulson I think you are right Peter, there are a few of this vintage around.
@gmonty I hope the busses on your property are in a better state than this one.
@casablanca I don't think this one will be coming past anyone's house any time soon.
@happypat It can't be moved, it is on private property. I suspect the chap that put it there was planning to restore it, but a couple of sub tropical cyclones 'did for it'
Well, if it truly had some nostalgia attached to it, they have a funny way of cherishing the memories! That roof is not going to last another three years from the looks of it!
Has someone been jumping on it! If you go back to a previous life you wouldn't have been still long enough to have taken this shots. Nice thought isn't it!
