Decline

Every time we go to Newcastle we pass this bus in the paddock of a property at Bobs Farm and I have been photographing it for a few years.

As you can see it has deteriorated somewhat over the years and I have no idea why the people who own the property haven't got rid of it. Maybe it has nostalgic value to them.

Oh dear. Be interesting to see it in two years time.

Shame it's in such a poor state, but interesting to see its decline over the years.

Lovely comparison over time Babs, it looks very sorry for itself such a shame, I suspect its an export Leyland Double Decker, it came a long way to get in this state:)

It's interesting to see the rate of the decay, I wonder what it will look like next year. Clever idea.

We have 2 old double deckers on our place. The ones here were electric buses.
October 6th, 2018
That is so interesting, Babs.

Oh the poor old thing! I do love an old bus. There is a vintage one that comes past our house at weekends when the station is closed. Love seeing it.

What a great collage, amazing that nobody has stolen the metal ;-)

Terrific capture of decline in this neat collage
October 6th, 2018
I wonder how long it will take for it to disappear, great collage.

The double decker has become a single decker. You are so diligent at recording changes with your photography Babs. It is fascinating.

Such a shame it’s been allowed to deteriorate like this.

Well that is a sad end tomthe old bus. Such a pretty blue it is too, I'm surprised no one has moved it to the scrap yard, is scrap not wirth anything in Australia? I suppose it really should have been moved while it could be driven....probably too late now!

Reminds me of the shed I've photographed over the last 3 years it almost gone now. Great story telling. I might copy when I have time :)
October 6th, 2018
I`m with you. In our country, if it is visible from off the road, you have to. You have to remove wracks.

What a great series, somehow I don't think a bit of filler will sort this

@paul10 @inthecloud5 @julzmaioro @beryl @hermann @susie1205 @sangwann @sarahlth @dorsethelen @30pics4jackiesdiamond @lynne5477 @claudiet @mittens @henrir @samae @bkbinthecity @ludwigsdiana @seattlite @craftymeg @helenhall @susiemc @pyrrhula @suzanne234 Thanks, it has been on this property for years and I think it was probably intended to be a restoration project by the owner of the property. An East Coast Low (sub tropical cyclone) in 2015 caused the damage to it that year and then another East Coast Low finished it off last year. So it has sat here ever since.

@pcoulson I think you are right Peter, there are a few of this vintage around.

@gmonty I hope the busses on your property are in a better state than this one.

@casablanca I don't think this one will be coming past anyone's house any time soon.

@happypat It can't be moved, it is on private property. I suspect the chap that put it there was planning to restore it, but a couple of sub tropical cyclones 'did for it'

@rjb71 Look forward to seeing your shed photos.

How fun that you chose to takes shots as it declines further and further. I wish I’d thought to do that with a falling down house near me
October 7th, 2018
I thought only flesh goes this way with age. haha.
October 7th, 2018
Oh, My & how sad....can't be used now.
October 7th, 2018
Well, if it truly had some nostalgia attached to it, they have a funny way of cherishing the memories! That roof is not going to last another three years from the looks of it!
October 7th, 2018
Interesting change
October 7th, 2018
Oh dear, the wheels on this bus don't look they'd go round and round.
October 7th, 2018
Terrific collage of it's sad history :)
October 7th, 2018
Great collage.
October 7th, 2018
Has someone been jumping on it! If you go back to a previous life you wouldn't have been still long enough to have taken this shots. Nice thought isn't it!
October 7th, 2018
I love the time lapse! I've got a similar thing ongoing with a wall locally that's falling down but so far, we haven't had the final collapse!
October 10th, 2018
Such a shame, it would have looked great restored.
