New Growth by onewing

New Growth

Thanks so much for your comments and favs for yesterday's 'After the Rain' photo. Sorry I am a bit absent again, but a lot going on here again at the moment.

On my way home from Fingal Bay yesterday I spotted the new growth in bushland after a bushfire in August.

This is the reason we needed plenty of rain, not only to help new growth but to damp down the ground as we head towards summer and our bushfire season.

This fire was started in August during our winter. Winter this year was so dry and I suspect the fire was deliberately lit as we don't normally get bushfires in wintertime.
Hopefully the recent rain has added some moisture to the ground in our bush areas

Love to see the place coming to live once more. I trust people will be very careful so that the same thing doesn't happen again this summer.

@annied I think our area has had quite a good soaking over the last week. Fingers crossed we won't have a bad summer of fires.

The trees will eventually come back to life but it will take a little longer as it has been so dry until now. I will go back to this spot in a few weeks and see what it is like then.

It's good to see the green coming through the fire damaged areas. Here's hoping there'll be more rain to keep the possibility of fire down throughout the summer.

It is always lovely to see the plants returning. Here's hoping we don't get the return of last summers horrific fires. I think most fires are caused by lightning strikes - but there is also the odd one caused by stupidity!
