Continuing my theme of birds in our garden, here is the latest offspring of Onewing and Squawk. We just refer to him now as 'the teenager'
He was initially known as 'the baby' when Onewing and Squawk first introduced him to us a couple of years ago and then as time went on he became 'the youngster' and now as he doesn't seem to want to leave home we just call him 'the teenager' Onewing and Squawk still seem to be happy for him to stick around though so maybe he may move on once he finds a lady friend of his own, but in the meantime he is just one of the family.
Yesterday it bucketed down with rain and as you can see he was looking rather soggy and sorry for himself.
@pusspup Yes he got what he was looking for, some raw mince.
@sangwann They may look the same to an untrained eye, but when they visit regularly as this family do they each have their own individiual characteristics and are easy to recognise.
@casablanca His eyes were perky because he knew he was going to be fed once I had taken his photo. He has me well trained.
@helenhall I think they shelter in hollows of trees when it is really bucketing down with rain but I guess he risked getting wet because he was hungry.
@olivetreeann Yes he was rewarded, he knows I will feed him
