Today started out quite nice with blue skies and then the rain clouds came in and we had a downpour. Pretty grey skies now but very humid and warm. Lots of mozzies around too.
@annied@leestevo So humid after our short downpour today. David had to fix the lights on our trailer this evening and got bitten to buggery with the mozzies!!
@hermann Thanks Sally it is a lovely spot. @888rachel There are houses just behind where I took this photo and I think it is green because the people who own the houses have Spearpoint bore water. It isn't as green up the hill where we live even after a couple of days of rain. We live just that bit too high up for bore water.
Just read back through other posts. Seriously, get a repellant with DEET (diethyltoluamide) in it for David. It's about the only thing mozzies respect.
@golftragic You could dip David in the stuff and he would still get bitten. If it isn't mozzies, it is march flies, spiders, green ants, paper wasps etc. They all just love him. March flies and spiders give him the most trouble though.
@onewing Oh darn!! I have heard that if the poor mozzie-dinner takes lots of Vitamin B the little wretches don't like the taste of the victim's skin much. Have you tried that?
@golftragic He had Graves disease a few years ago and had to have his thyroid 'disabled' and while he was on medication for that his skin went like paper so it could be that even now the little beggars find it easy to penetrate his skin.
I have to have B12 injections every 3 months, so maybe that is why they don't like me.
