There is nothing nicer on a sunny day than a walk along the foreshore in Newcastle. There are so many different things to see along the way, from the Maritime Museum at one end to Nobby’s Lighthouse at the other. You can watch the ships being ushered out of the harbour, stop for lunch at the many cafes and restaurants along the way, or in my case just spend time taking hundreds of photos.
If you are feeling energetic you can climb the phallic-like Queens Wharf Tower seen in this picture, it is 40.3 metres high and has 180 steps to the top.
@huvesaker No it isn't warm at the moment it is winter here. Having said that though I believe the sea temperature is around 17 degrees which isn't too bad I suppose for winter.
@bristol_colin This is Newcastle New South Wales, Australia not Newcastle upon tyne UK. So I hope I haven't confused you.
Our Newcastle is about 160 km north of Sydney and about 60 km from where I love at Nelson Bay.
Another wonderful image with lots of interesting buildings, great pov and dof. Babs looking at those dark clouds I bet you didn't hang around long lol;);)
@bristol_colin ha ha. don't think you would pick it from my accent though, I come from Yorkshire originally and still have the accent even after all these years. I can say G'day though.
@happypat Thanks Pat. The orange towers are navigational markers for the huge ships coming into port, but I don't think they are used much these days since GPS.
