Yes- it does! Most people tend to think that positive/negative space must be open, unfilled sections of your photo, but that is not necessarily so. This photo is a good example of that in that you have both, but they are textured so they are not readily identifiable. People also tend to associate negative space with lack of color (i. e. black) but in your picture's case the negative space is actually the white areas and the positive space the black areas.
