While looking for a photo or something which reminded me of a childhood memory I noticed this photo on the side. It is one of the few photos of my Mum and Dad with my brother Brian my sister Barbara and me all together. It is on show in a frame and when I tried to take a photo of it I saw how faded it had become and how it had deteriorated. So I have done a clean up job on it - still not that good quality but better than it was. I am not sure of the year this was taken but it was not long after my Dad retired and my parents moved out of London to a lovely new bungalow in Northampton. I think I am in my early 20s. It's lovely to see this photo of us all together because it didn't happen very often as my brother was always "busy"!! It's sad as there is only my sister and me left. That's me at the back with my Purdy haircut (anyone remember that?) and wearing a dress with a little jacket which I loved. A lovely memory of a very rare family day and just before my Dad became ill so extra special.
I love it! What a treasure! You have a beautiful family!
And I remember those haircuts! We called them the Dorothy Hamill and I believe I had one as well. Although yours looks better than mine did!
@pixiemac that's funny my sister and I were laughing today at the way they were standing with crossed arms. It looks such a strange way to pose! Like Father like son!
This is a wonderful memory shot! And I think you really did a good job to clean it up. It's sad to look at older photos with loved ones no longer here, but then there are all the wonderful memories the photos bring up as well.
