I think this is a Cornflower but not sure. It was in the box of mixed seeds and I am having fun trying without much success to identify the flowers as they open. Id by Lesley - Nigella or Love-in-a-mist - what a lovely name!!
The Bank Holiday weekend is over and I have my house to myself once again - Yippee!! Much as I love having guests this latest one was a bit of a trial and very hard work. Nice to see him but phew glad he has gone home!!
Many thanks for all your lovely comments on my shots - I do appreciate you stopping by and commenting especially as I have been absent for the last few days as "life" took over. It's such a shame when your friends and family have no interest in photography and their eyes glaze over when you start to talk about anything to do with it!!
So thank you all my lovely 365 friends I love you all - its so wonderful to know like minded "obsessed" people like me!! LOL!!
Wow it's on the PP! How amazing! I can't understand those monkeys 5 favs - now how can that get it on the PP? Oh well I suppose I shouldn't question. I am thrilled it's there so thank you for your great comments which got it there!
@jo13 Families Jo!! LOL!! I love the 5D11 especially the abilitly to do a big crop without loosing any quality. Fab for portraits - that's if I can find anyone to take!! Top quality for landscapes. Shooting full frame in Raw allows you to get so much more detail. Big drawback is it only takes 3 FPS!! So for wildlife which is moving or flying it's a dead loss. I have lost so many good shots because of this. My first love is taking shots of wildlife of all sorts and I really captured better shots with my Canon 40D at 7FPS. See my shots of the gannets, the puffin and the fox which were all taken with my 40D. But when you cropped you lost quality. It seems you can't have everything!! One other thing about the 5D is its weight. It is a big camera and when I have my 100-400mm lens on its a big weight to carry round for a long time. I would like to try the 7D and the 70D to see if its worth changing back from full frame to a crop sensor.
@pamknowler My 550d is also 3fps and it is a struggle with wildlife but good practice I suppose! I just don't want to go full frame or take on too much weight so the 70d is perfect in that respect, but .... well there is always a but! The 7D does 8fps and has 5 auto focus settings, where as the 70D does 7fps and has only 3 AF settings, somehow that doesnt feel like an improvement?! I'm feeling ok, thanks for asking.
Gorgeous capture of the "whatever" flower. I never know the names of them, even if I have made a point to learn it! Happy for you Mr. Needy is gone and agree with you about friends and family whose eyes glaze over - or worse they run from you!
Beautiful!
